Collaborate with a member of the award-winning Motawi Design Team to formulate a project design using some of the most beautiful handmade tile on earth.

Let’s chat about your project
We can talk on the phone or meet in our Ann Arbor, Michigan studio. During this initial, complementary hour-long design consultation, we’ll discuss your project, space and personal tastes to start formulating the perfect Motawi solution. Your design consultation can happen at a convenient time during the work week. Contact our design department to schedule.
What we’ll give you
We offer in-house design services for a $600 nonrefundable fee per project. We will put together tile layouts customized to your dimensions and preferences. When a final design is selected and your order has been placed, we’ll prepare an installation diagram for your contractor/installer.
Project Fee
After your complimentary design consultation, your Motawi designer will devote five hours of design time to your project for $600. Most project designs can be finished within those five hours. If additional time is necessary, each hour beyond the first five is $100 per hour. Final dimensions are required to start the design process. If dimensions change, additional design fees may be assessed.
Your final design will include a comprehensive tile count and an itemized price quote for Motawi tiles and other essentials. We require a 50% deposit and glaze range approval to begin production on your tiles. The final 50% plus shipping is due when your order is nearing completion.

The scope of our work
The scope of our work is limited to tile layout design and glaze color/tile selection assistance. A written Installation Guide will also be provided. Proper installation methods, adherence to structural guidelines and other design decisions are not the responsibility of Motawi Tileworks.
